Dr. Nick Bansback Receives New Investigator Award

C2E2 Associate Scientist, Dr. Nick Bansback has received a CIHR New Investigator Award. This five-year award will allow Dr. Bansback to explore research on the economics of patient-centred care. He will study whether implementing decision aids, tools that promote informed shared decisions between patients and their providers, is clinically effective and cost-effective in patients with chronic diseases. Particular focus will be on diseases that lead to elective surgeries and/or have issues with adherence to medications. The ultimate aim of this program of research is to provide evidence leading to a patient centred and economically sustainable Canadian health care system.
