PhD student wins Awards from both CADTH and ISPOR

Congratulations to William Hall for receiving awards from both the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technology in Health (CADTH) and ISPOR – the Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research.

The CADTH award recognizes promising students in the area of health economics, and invites them to showcase their research at the annual symposium. At the symposium, William presented his work on the cost-effectiveness of robots designed to reduce patient infections using ultra-violet light.

The ISPOR Distinguished Service Award recognizes exceptional service by the society’s volunteer leaders. As the President of the ISPOR student chapter at UBC, William organized multiple educational events for students interested health economics. His Service Award was also given for his leadership in developing online educational resources for an international student audience.

We congratulate William, and look forward to the session he will be running on “Health Economic Evaluation” as part of VCHRI’s Innovation Workshop Series on Wednesday, June 19th.
