Hayley is a PhD student at the University of British Columbia’s School of Population and Public Health with Dr. Craig Mitton as her supervisor. She holds a Masters in Health Sciences from St. George’s University of London and a Masters in Law, Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, from Cardiff University. She has gained a unique skill set through her clinical experience as a dental hygienist and quality assurance inspector in the United Kingdom, which was integral in obtaining the CIHR Health System Impact Fellowship in 2024. Her quality improvement expertise is in evaluating healthcare providers for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Hayley is particularly interested in the ethical allocation of limited healthcare resources, which inspired her to pursue her PhD. Her research interests include health economics, pharmaceutical policy, quality improvement, and health services research.
