Consultation
We provide consultation in a wide range of areas including study design, data collection & management, statistical analysis, systematic reviews, and health economics. Researchers are strongly encouraged to contact the Centre early in the development of their research idea or grant proposal.
Free one-hour consultations are available to VCH staff through scheduled appointments. Consultations are not provided for student or resident research projects unless the project is an integral part of a staff member’s research program, otherwise individuals should seek assistance from their department.

Methods for Observational Studies: Planning the Analysis
This course offers an introduction to methods for observational studies across health services, health outcomes and public health research. Its goal is to equip multidisciplinary teams with the essential tools needed for planning and analyzing observational data. Key topics include developing an analytical framework, designing dataset creation strategies, and planning data analysis. This course is ideal for clinicians, healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, residents, health services researchers, data analysts, and students.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will develop competencies and skills in:
- Presenting study questions within the framework of observational studies.
- Developing protocols for dataset creation.
