Bio

Maya Vasdani is a medical social scientist trained in qualitative approaches to health research. She earned her MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, where she studied the pathologization of postpartum body changes and new mothers’ attempts to surgically return to their pre-pregnancy bodies. Maya is broadly interested in using patient narratives to explore new perspectives on medical research, as well as the ways in which individuals become integrated into medical systems. As a Research Assistant at C2E2, she works on similar topics as they relate to patient, provider, and caregiver experiences with liver transplantation.
